It was glorious weather for the Friends Family Day on the 15th of July and visitors enjoyed all the activities in the park as well as the homemade cakes and refreshments in the cafe. Thanks to everyone who attended and all the helpers that made the day so successful.
In the Spillway, Simon Bond from Brecks Birds of Prey had several birds on display, with children having a photo opportunity holding them. Helen Ensor from RSPB hosted a stall selling a range of books and toys and provided a lot of information about birds to visitors.
Melvyn Smith and Mel Connolly from Rotherham Beekeepers Association brought an observational beehive
Mike Smethurst had collected 63 different species in his moth trap
Park Manager Kevin Burke led a Bug Hunt, many children enjoyed Ann’s Wildlife Trail and the Friends stall of books and gifts was very popular.
