Countryside Day – 15th June 2014.

June 16, 2014 − by Admin − in Uncategorized − No Comments

The countryside day, arranged by the Friends Group and supported with a grant from Community Games attracted many people, despite the less than favourable weather. Attractions including pond dipping, bug hunting and clay modelling were very popular with younger visitors and an array of colourful moths, trapped overnight, provided a fascinating spectacle. The plant stall also did a roaring trade. Two “insect hotels” were constructed and to encourage people to attract wildlife into their gardens, hotel construction leaflets were available and nest boxes could be purchased.

The Friends Group would like to thank everybody who attended the event with particular thanks to Community Games for their sponsorship.
