Local band Kahootz returned to The Spillway at the May Cafe Day, and the weather was as fantastic as last May when they gave the first performance in the new area. The band played two brilliant sets in front of an appreciative crowd.
There was also a pottery workshop run by Caroline Lee in the new Friends gazebos which proved very popular with several families and some excellent pieces of pottery were created, especially by enthusiastic Emily Jones
The Friends Cafe was very busy and the whole day was a tremendous success, especially with the new overspill car park available.
Thanks to Kahootz, Caroline and all the Friends volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly!
Raffle prizes were won as follows :- Fruit basket – Ron Meadows, Plant – Pat wade, Prosseco – Chris Rhodes, Chocolate biscuits – Maureen Irwin, Gardening toys – Pat Towell, Biscuits – Hazel Ross Kolman
The Friends are very grateful for financial support for events at our Cafe Days through grant funding from Sanctuary Housing and the Council’s Building Stronger Communities programme.
Enjoy Kahootz once again!
