Local band Kahootz gave an outstanding performance to open The Spillway, the Park’s new open air venue for the performing arts, at the May Cafe Day. Playing two sets to an appreciative audience in lovely weather the band demonstrated what a popular venue the Spillway should become.

The Spillway has been built using a grant from Rother Valley West Area Assembly and the Friends hope it will be used by local schools or community groups for drama or musical productions.

The Cafe Day was another successful day with a record number of visitors enjoying  refreshments in beautiful weather. Thanks to Kahootz and everyone who came to the Park and made the event such a special occasion.

Raffle prize winners were as follows:-  Plant – mike Rudd, Wine – Harrison Wood, Ferraro Rocher – Kath Webster, Chocolates – Val Burrows, Latte mugs – Don, Body treatment – Jeff Blades
