The Friends have commissioned Lorraine Botterill to create two timber benches featuring sculptures of wildlife creatures and these have now been installed on the reservoir embankment. We think these are a superb feature in the Park and provide an interesting facility for visitors to rest and enjoy the views across the Park.
The sculptures have been generously funded from the Banks Community Fund and thanks are due to John Jackson, Colin Allen, Richard Horsfield and Paul Nash who gave strenuous assistance to ensure the installation of the benches was successful.
Lorraine Botterill has created the benches and sculpted the wildlife figures using a chainsaw. She did give a demonstration of her skills at the July Cafe Day and is available for commissions. If you are interested in her work visit her website at www.lbsculptures.co.uk
