The Friends January Cafe Day suffered from another spell of cold wintry weather but, like the December event, there were many hardy souls that braved the conditions to enjoy the homemade refreshments in the warmth of the Visitors Centre.
The conditions made the the new Wildlife Trail round the Park very difficult as the metal plaques were wet and icy so not really suitable for doing crayon rubbings. Ruby and Emily Jones did their best to find the trail plaques but were beaten by wet paper when doing the rubbings. They still got their Certificates and a prize each for being the first to complete the trail.
Thanks to everyone who made such an effort to support the Friends Cafe Day once again. Hopefully there will be better weather in February!
Raffle prizes were won as follows:- Plant – Mrs March, Quality Street – Kay Smith, Shortbread – Sue Parker, Wine – Sue Miccoli, Marmalades – Mrs Richardson, Chocolates – Steve Spencer
