Barbara Littlewood decided not to continue as Secretary of the Friends at last year’s AGM, after holding the post since the formation of the Friends in 2006. The Committee wanted to thank her and recognise her outstanding service on behalf of the Friends Group and Barbara suggested that we provide a bird feeding table, with appropriate seating, at the far end of the Morthen Arm. Construction of the bird table has now been carried out by Groundwork Cresswell, using stone provided by Ulley Quarry, and we have applied to the Banks Community Fund for a grant to provide seating benches, that will enable completion of the area as a peaceful location to sit and enjoy the beauty of the Park which Barbara has worked so hard to preserve and enhance.
