The Friends have bought two large gazebos to provide a covered area on the veranda outside the Visitors Centre and these were erected for the first time at the Cafe Day on Sunday 19th of February. Hopefully the weather will be kind during the year and there won’t be a need for both gazebos but they will enable visitors to sit in the dry and enjoy the views over the Park on a rainy day.
Thanks to the keen band of volunteers who helped with the erection and removal of the gazebos, without the help of accurate instructions!
The reasonably mild weather certainly encouraged visitors to the Park and made the Cafe Day a huge success with all the homemade cakes and soup being sold. Visitors will also have noticed two new concrete planting troughs at the Park entrance which were delivered this week. These were largely funded by a Community Leadership Fund grant from the three local Councillors for Rother Vale Ward Leon Allcock, Bob Walsh and Amy Brookes.
The raffle prizes were won as follows:- Plant – Georgia Wood, Wine – L. Rastall, Towels and soap – Don, Pot Pourri – B. Bartholomew, Chocolates – Pat Wade, Cosmetics – G. Wood
