South Yorkshire Rock Choir gave a brilliant performance in The Spillway at the Friends Cafe in September. Despite some uncertain weather there was a large audience who enjoyed 30 minutes of ‘feel good’ singing in the lovely surroundings. Rock Choir is a national organisation with over 350 choirs round the country and the South Yorkshire group had about 40 singers performing, enthusiastically led by Kate Threlfall. Thanks to Kate and all the Rock Choir singers for providing such excellent entertainment.
There was also a tombola in the Visitors Centre to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, organised by Eileen Blades, which was well supported and raised over £200.
Although there were fewer visitors than usual at the Cafe Day, probably due to the weather and Rotherham Show, the day went well and the weather stayed fine until a beautiful rainbow over the Park brought a heavy shower in the afternoon.
