The Russell Howes Bird Hide at the end of the Morthen Arm of the Park has been rebuilt by the Rotherham Metro Ramblers using timber provided by the Friends through a grant from Councillor Chris Middleton. The Hide was named after Russ to mark his long service as a voluntary ranger and his contribution towards improving the amenities of the Park.

Sadly the hide had been badly vandalised but the new construction is more substantial.

The bird hide near the sailing club tower on the Ulley Arm will also be rebuilt in the near future by a voluntary team from the Environment Agency.
