SUCCESSFUL FEBRUARY CAFE DAY

February 19, 2018 − by Admin − in Uncategorized − No Comments

The Friends Cafe Day on the 18th of February was back to being a great success after the disappointing weather in January. There was a good attendance with a lot of people enjoying a walk round the Park before visiting the cafe.

The new Wildlife Trail proved very popular, with lots of children getting a prize and certificate for completing the crayon rubbings. Councillors Bob Walsh and Amy Brookes, who provided funding for the metal plaques, came along to walk the trail.

There were also leaflets available for the  Green Man Trail and the Ulley Trail which seemed to encourage more visitors to enjoy their walk in the Park before sampling the homemade refreshments in the Cafe. Apologies to those visitors that turned up later in the day when most of the homemade soup and cakes had been sold!

Raffle prizes were won as follows- Plant – Sue Turner, Chocolates – Kath Webster, Wine – B. Cottey, Skin care – Jeff Blades, Jams and mug – Helen Thornlobe, Jigsaw – Gwen Smith

Phill Hall has sent this message …..Thanks to everyone who supported our Guide Dogs fundraiser at the February cafe day. A chilly but bright day saw lots of visitors to the park. We managed to raise almost £50 from sales of jewellery and donations. Thanks once again for your kind support and the Friends of Ulley for their support.
