The first Ulley Arts Festival, organised by the friends of Ulley Country Park was a huge success with brilliant weather over the weekend that encouraged visitors to come and enjoy the performances, activities and displays. The focal point was The Spillway, the outdoor performance area created in the Park, in which there was a range of performances by local schools and professional artists. OPENING CEREMONY
The Festival was opened officially by Councillor Sarah Allen, Cabinet Member for Cleaner, Greener Communities on the Saturday, following a sell out evening with Ian McMillan and Luke Carver Goss on the Friday.

The Bard of Barnsley entertains on a lovely sunny Friday evening.
On the Saturday there were performances by the following schools in The Spillway:-
Aston All Saints Junior and Infant School

Aston Hall Junior and Infant School


Ruby Jones from Aston Academy performed a cornet solo

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES IN THE VISITORS CENTRE
There was an exhibition by Ulley Art Group together with displays of artwork from Aston Academy, Aston Hall J&I School, Wickersley Northfield Primary School, Newman Special School, Swallownest Primary School and Aston Fence J&I School. John Morris provided guidance on watercolour painting.
There were several activities for visitors to try.
